The Concept: An Unmanned Truck Without Cab T-Pod

Einride the Swedish company showed a prototype of an unmanned cargo van T-pod. The engineers got rid of the drivers cab.

It is expected that the car will be equipped with the system of the fifth level of Autonomous driving. If necessary, the operator can control the truck remotely. T-pod can carry up to 20 tonnes of cargo. On a single battery charge, the truck can travel up to 200 kilometers.

The first commercial application of the T-Pod will begin in 2020 in Sweden. 200 trucks will run between Gothenburg and Helsingborg. The development of unmanned trucks engaged in Uber.

In late June the company released a video testing the car.
